“The Unprotected Countryside”

Bond Head, Ontario. Next in The Unprotected Countryside Approximately 44º 05.662′ N 79º39.292’W, facing North-Northwest, circa October 15, 2005

The Greenbelt Act was put in place as a check against the ravages of development and to preserve land for recreation, heritage and agriculture. So what of lands just beyond or adjacent to the Greenbelt, in what the Neptis Foundation calls the “Unprotected Countryside”? This farm just north of Highway 88 East of Bond Head and west of Highway 400 lies just beyond the Greenbelt immediately adjacent to newly developed former farmland west of Bradford, now some of the fastest developing lands in the province.
